How do we help families?
Our FREE programs support new and expecting parents while benefiting the whole family.
Get help with:
- Prenatal, childbirth, & postpartum education
- Parenting classes for dads
- Breastfeeding support (lactation consultations)
- Screening, assessment, & treatment for children with developmental, behavioral, & social needs
- And more
Many of our programs can even offer in-home support.
That means the program comes to you, so you don’t have to deal with finding a ride, disrupting nap time, timing your feedings, and all the other tasks that go along with leaving home.

How do I know if I qualify for support?
Each program has its own set of qualifications. If you’re a new or expecting parent living in the San Diego area, fill out our survey or call the YMCA Warmline and we’ll help find the best resources for your needs.
What is in-home family support?
In-home support means program staff can visit the home, or wherever you’re comfortable meeting, on a regular basis to provide education, guidance, and resources for pregnant people and new parents. You might work with a family support specialist, educator, or nurse, depending on your needs. Learn more here.
Do I have to do an in-home visit? What if my current housing is temporary or shared?
If in-home visits aren’t possible, you can still receive our support. Our in-home support staff can meet you at a library, a park, or any place that feels comfortable for you.
Do all programs require in-home visits?
No, not all programs include home visiting. We offer a range of support services that can be delivered in-person, online, or even over the phone. Learn more about the resources available to you here.
Do your programs cost money?
Our programs are FREE for qualifying families!
